Bathroom remodeling

When you think in a bathroom remodeling you probably expect thoughts of clean, gleaming white surfaces or of a half-assembled disaster. But if you have someone who can do this job, a contractor for example, you won´t be concern about these problems.

For example, if you're remodeling a bedroom and wish to change the layout, it's not so bad. You move a closet here, push back a wall there. But with bathrooms, you're not just dealing with the visible elements, you're dealing with the underlying structure of plumbing and electrical system. So, you’ve decided to hire a professional bathroom remodeling contractor. The complexity of this job means that hiring a pro is the best idea. Because all the difficult operations as electrical, tiling, plumbing, etc. are involved. It´s mean you will save yourself a load of misery and time by hiring a contractor.

One of the first things you'll want to do is make sure the contractor is properly licensed, it just means that they have fulfilled the basic minimum requirements of the licensing agency, permits as electrical, building, and others may be required. Remember to apply for permits early.

We will give you some tips on a bathroom remodeling, the first is no matter if this is just a simple toilet/shower/cabinet bathroom remodel, some kind of design or planning must take place. Contractor-designed bathroom remodels may follow any number of tried-and-true template designs. It all depends in how far you want to go.

When we talk about surface alterations, you may like the general layout and size of the bathroom and the structure supporting the bathroom (joists, walls, etc.). In this case the idea of the surface-level bathroom remodeler is to cover, not replace. There is no shame at all in wanting to do a surface-level bathroom remodel.

Is this a complete tear-out and replace project? Then the contractor will arrange for a roll-off dumpster or hauling company to cart away the mess. Even for more minor projects, some kind of demolition will take place.

Plumbing and electrical are of key importance in any bathroom remodel. The plumbers and electricians will “rough-in” their work. An inspection is made by city or county officials at this point.

Now the installation of shower or bath stage: the bathtub or shower are built or installed in accordance with the rough-in. Then the bathroom sink and toilet too. After all this steps, the contractor will follow with bathroom flooring. Walls are closed up, and another inspection is made. Bathroom cabinets are put in. Walls are painted. Fixtures are installed.

Since bathrooms collect moisture, there is a good chance you may have to replace drywall. In the case of bathrooms, you'll be using special moisture-resistant drywall commonly called: green board, and in the very wet areas like showers and baths you'll be using moisture-proof backer board.

In the case of the shower, tub, or shower/tub combination, remember this is the heart of the bathroom. For many people, this may be the entire reason for the bathroom remodel.

Now you will be ready to begin using your new bathroom!
